PRESIDENT OBAMA'S STIMULUS BILL-WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU!

The recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Economic Stimulus Bill) includes the following provisions related to higher education:
-$17 billion to increase the Pell Grant maximum by $500 for the 2009-2010 academic year-bringing the maximum award to $5350; with an additional $200 added in 2010-2011.
-The College Opportunity Tax Credit increases by $700 to $2500 for college tution and related expenses for eligible individuals and families.
-An additional $200 milllion in funding will be added to the Federal Work-Study program.
