Your Cosmetology License

Beginning a career that requires you to get a specialty license such as the cosmetology license can be a daunting task. International Academy’s Cosmetology Program encompasses a powerful, all-inclusive cosmetology curriculum including the fundamentals needed to pass the cosmetology license examination. Our cosmetology courses are presented in a high tech, user-friendly system that allows students to easily follow classroom instruction, review cosmetology lessons at any time, and take self-tests to evaluate their beauty skills.

A first time cosmetology license requires the applicant to finish 1,200 hours of training and to pass the state cosmetology license examination. At the International Academy we work to make sure that every cosmetologist that comes through our doors is well qualified upon completion of the Cosmetology Program to take the state licensing exam. We pride ourselves on building on the fundamentals that are pivotal in passing the cosmetology state licensing exam.

Our cosmetology students pride themselves in having engaged in an intensive course of study and discovery which will guide them to success, high achievement, and a mastery of accomplishment. At the International Academy Cosmetology Program, the student's time is spent initially in theoretical as well as practical work. The goal is to establish thorough and complete knowledge of cosmetology as well as good professional habits. The program consists of demonstrations, lectures and examinations. The scheduling at the beginning of the cosmetology program is primarily classroom work. The latter portion is the actual application of all phases on live models and mannequins under constant supervision of our professional instructors. After successful completion of the Cosmetology Program at International Academy every student will have completed all the requirements needed for the state cosmetology license registration.

Full-time Days: 30 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.

Part-time Days: Minimum of 20 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday.

Part-time Nights: Minimum of 20 hours per week, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Tuesday through Thursday; plus 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday.
