Admissions
A
school visitation by all applicants is required prior to acceptance.
Each applicant must have a personal interview with a school representative.
During the interview, the school program relative to the applicant's
career preferences and individual motivation will be discussed.
Entering students with proper documentation, (official transcripts
or proof of a license), will receive credit for previous training
from an accredited school. This will be applied to tuition, hours
and services, etc., whichever applies, per the transfer student section
of the catalog.
International Academy registers on any day and classes start every
five weeks. See the "Class Starting Dates" section of
our catalog for the next class. International Academy's admission,
training, and graduation policies preclude discrimination on the
basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex, age, financial status,
or ethnic origin.

Admissions Procedures
Students
should apply for admission as soon as possible in order to be officially
accepted for a specific program and starting date. To apply, students
should complete the Application Form and send it to the school or
call for a priority appointment to visit the school and receive
a tour of its facilities.
All applicants are required to complete a personal interview with
an admissions representative. Parents and spouses are encouraged
to attend. This gives applicants and their families an opportunity
to see the school's equipment and facilities and to ask questions
relating to the academy's curriculum and career objectives. Personal
interviews also enable school administrators to determine whether
an applicant is acceptable for enrollment into the program.
All applicants must be beyond the age of compulsory education (16)
and be a High School graduate or have the equivalency (G.E.D.).
If the applicant has not completed either of the above mentioned
requirements, they must take the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (two,
20 minute timed tests) and score minimum of 200 on the Verbal and
210 on Quantitative. The result of the entrance test will determine
the applicant's ability to benefit from the offered programs. The
entrance test is designed to evaluate those traits and aptitudes
required for a successful career in Cosmetology, Nail Technology,
Skin Care or Full Specialty.
Students who have previously attended the Academy will be subject
to the same requirements and procedures as new applicants. A non-refundable
$100.00 Registration and Enrollment Fee is required at the time
of formal enrollment. Once an applicant has completed and submitted
the Application and Enrollment Agreement, the school reviews the
information and informs the applicant of its decision. If an applicant
is not accepted, all fees paid to the school are refunded.
